Justin Cure has been the Information Technology Director for the City of Santa Barbara, California since 2021. Previously, Justin was the Director Information Services at the City of Longview, Texas. During his 20 plus years of experience, Justin and his team have created an enterprise GIS from scratch, implemented a citywide GIS-centric work order management system in the cloud, implemented a mobile app to take citizen requests, migrated email to Google Apps for Government, rolled out VDI, and strengthened the City's security posture. If that wasn't enough, Longview also provided IT and GIS support to the City of Kilgore, Texas and GIS support for the City of Henderson, Texas.
Justin has a strong belief that IT and GIS make the World a better place to live by solving problems and improving processes. He wants to help you improve your organization by assisting with your IT and GIS projects.
Justin was formerly the President of the East Texas GIS & GPS User Group and the President of the East Texas Chapter of the Texas Association of Government IT Managers. He has been a member of South Central Arc User Group since 2002 and has served as North Texas Representative, President, and Past President. Justin is a Certified Government CIO, Certified GIS Professional, and Certified Public Manager. During Justin's free time he enjoys reading about technology and traveling. He has been to 50 states and 11 countries.
